Lawrence Maleka, a renowned South African actor, host, and presenter, gained prominence as the host of the Mzansi Magic reality show, Clash of the Choirs South Africa.

Born on April 11, 1990, in Soweto, South Africa, Lawrence Maleka grew up with his siblings, being the youngest in a family of three, with an older brother and sister.


Self-taught in the art of creating screenplays, Maleka garnered recognition as the lead in the telenovela Magic One. His portrayal of Zolani in The River and his appearance in the film Clash of Choirs further solidified his presence in the entertainment industry.

In 2009, Lawrence Maleka made a transition from filmmaking to become a show host on Soweto TV. He ventured into radio with shows like Ziyaporomo and Radio Street. In 2015, he assumed the role of director for Lotto Powerball Lottery on, succeeding Vizel Makania.

Notably, Maleka had the unique opportunity to take over as the director of Clash of the Choirs South Africa and the reality TV show Mzansi Magic, succeeding Bonang Matheba in this once-in-a-lifetime role.
