Born to Chief Corlenso Ojougboh and Mrs. Angelina Ojougboh, Cairo attended Pilgrims Baptist Primary School and later graduated from St. Columba’s Grammar School in 1976. He pursued higher education at Auchi Polytechnic before ultimately earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Benin in 1985.

Political Career Highlights:

Cairo’s political journey began as the Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) from 1998 to 1999. His roles as the Presidential Liaison Officer to the President on NASS and Special Assistant to the President on NASS (2007-2011) marked his commitment to public service. He later served as the Chairman of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) from 2013 to 2015.

Within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Cairo held prominent positions, such as National Vice Chairman and Chairman for the South South region (2014-2016) and Deputy National Chairman (2016-2017). His political acumen also led him to serve as the Political Adviser to Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark and as the Executive Secretary of the National Unity Group (NUG).
